Today marked the next phase of my Earth Ministry. Workers came to begin spraying parts of Whispering Pines in preparation of the promise of fall linked to the beginning of winter. The spray is designed to kill the growth of weeds, grasses and trees, especially those pesky gums popping up every where. This spray makes it’s way to the roots. All this is in preparation for the planting of news trees after the falls rains have quenched the earths crust. The game plan is to give the new trees the most competitive advantage. If weather and time permits we will do control burns to remove the dry fuel left behind. Maybe someone will inform California this actually works in Georgia and regularly reduces available fuel which minimizes the intensity of a wild fire.
