1968 A Very Big Year for one Unaware!

Where were you in 1968? Okinawa on my way home to the USA! Wife and first born son preceded me! Back to college and figure out what I would do to support my family! I was not aware the USCCB had granted approval to restore the permanent diaconate in the USA. Today we are in New Orleans at the 50th anniversary of the permanent diaconate of which I became a part of in 1995.

Proves things are happening that we are not aware and God’s plan may overtake us in the midst of a busy life!

If you can escape the chaos the world seeks to inflict upon in our upside down world – well just maybe some magic is being brewed beyond sight that has long been being prepared for you!

A few weeks ago I selected a Gospel reading to be used for my final reflection as the final requirement to complete Level II Spanish Class. I choose this past week ends Gospel – Mark 9: 38-43. Within this Gospel lives Hope for those outside the inner group. Even someone in prison, locked up behind bars the spirit has the potential to drive out demons and penetrate hearts of stone. In the Name of Jesus those open and willing to take the risk can take the leap of faith they may be able to assist in driving the demons out of those possessed with evil especially those in powerful places including our government and church!

Could the Lord have been leading me to speak in light of the scandal of the Roman Catholic Church and the scandal of the United States Senate! Pray in the Name of Jesus the demons of division be driven from the places where the lust for power has replaced the spirit of truth!

Advent and Brood Vipers in 2016-2017

This is Advent, a time to prepare for the coming of the light into the world. We hear from the John the Baptist to the religious of his day. You “brood of vipers” (Luke 3: 7)! Wow what a way to begin. How courageous was John willing to confront those who considered themselves the leaders of his day. Do we have any “brood of vipers” operating in our world today? Are we willing to speak the truth where people can hear?

John was preparing the way for the one who came to save us from ourselves. John was willing to risk everything including his head for the one who was willing to die for all sin!

“Sin” a political correctness taboo word in the modern world!

Do we have a brood of vipers working in our world today? Could it be even some who profess themselves as Christians? Some willing to silence the voice of anyone who proclaims a truth the world of political correctness wants to discredit!

Would our world behead John the Baptist today? Would our world seek to silence and crucify Jesus today?

The answer lies in our hearts! What truth do we accept or reject?

Come Lord Jesus! Make haste! We are in deep trouble! Open our hearts so your light of truth may be shine into our darkness, reveal the truth, loosen our stiff necks, so we each can use our spiritual eyes to see the world’s agenda for what it is. Spread your light into every hidden dark place, so the wounds inflicted on every soul may encounter the only power that can heal all wounds! Make haste to redeem and make us whole again!

December 2, 2012  1st Sunday of Advent

In today’s scripture readings the church is encouraging us to on alert, awake and ready.  We are to be aware and prepared for the Day of the Lord.

We are being asked and encouraged to look for signs.  Let me ask what signs are we watching and waiting for??  Well what signs are we looking for?

Have we noticed on this very day the nations on earth appear to be in dismay!  Just a month ago a historic terrible inland frontal storm merged with a fast moving tropical storm full of blowing wind and a raging seas which overwhelmed the land.  Homes and neighborhoods were destroyed and great cities brought to their knees.

Our nation is facing an economic fiscal cliff the size of which I doubt the very best economist can fully discern.  The language of economic deception is constantly being perfected.  One can find themselves overwhelmed with so many simultaneous signs in surrounding us this day.  Is this the time?  Are we living in the Day of Lord?

Listen to the words of hope,  Jeremiah speaks to the people Israel during a troubled times.  An invasion was coming.  The people would be lead into captivity and slavery.  Yet knowing exile was not far off Jeremiah assured the people Israel God would keep his promises in good times and bad.

The Day of the Lord:

The Day of the Lord – it is the Day we are hoping and longing for, a day of salvation, the day of our redemption.

We should never doubt the world is working overtime to distract us and convince us!  The world teaches our salvation is to be found through the portal of a new secular progressive agenda!  It is  reaping the benefits of advanced technologies and imaging that deflect and remove our focus from the spirit of truth into a sphere of rationalization, relativism and self gratification which distorts spiritual truth.

Beware:

Beware your hearts not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of life.  Scripture is warning us about our spiritual welfare being subverted by human condition which seeks to play god.

What is the portal to eternal life we should be looking for?  Where do we look, Where will we find it?  Who can help us find it?

Clues Present:

Here are some clues.  Yep, things are a mess in our nation and in the world.  It is happening right now today and if this nation does not turn back to godly ways scripture suggest it may well get much much worse.

What are we to do?  Stand erect and raise your heads!  Do not be fooled by the world!  The truth is the truth always and one who thirsts and long for the truth will seek and find it!  The truth is not found in the new portal of technology or progressivism.  The truth will be found by those who are vigilant at all times with an awareness the world seeks to distract with the lures of indulgence, drunkenness and caring about the false reality invading the world.

Be vigilant at all times, do not let your guard down.  And pray and pray and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations wishing to engulf your soul.

Do not let the words carousing and drunkenness be confined or limited to bar hopping and boos.  Carousing and drunkenness are any activities that subject one rationalization – I can still  to here my catholic grade school nun teach us about the word rationalization.  It is a word that describes the process of circumventing the truth with untrue.  It seeks to avert a confrontation with the truth and affirm a self serving point of view.

This is not a Roman Catholic Church supported Web Site.  Rather this site is essentially a personal journal of one man taking a risk to open self to the view of others.

It’s primary intended audience is the author’s children and Grand Children and perhaps future generations?  It is and has been engaged in reflecting upon the Spiritual War taking place in the modern world of today.

In the writers opinion, it is best described as a on-going grappling match / written description of the on going battle between the Great Deceiver and God’s design.  Often it can be described as a close intimate encounter when one is seeking to discern the truth – a la the original test in the garden.
