Reflections

Be My Valentine

Be my Valentine

Heard this song this morning — Made me reflect!
Do you want to know what loves it?

I want to know what love is!

http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/fox-and-friends/index.html

Gotta take, a little time to think things over
I better read between the lines, in case I need it when I’m older

Now this mountain I must climb, feels like the world upon my shoulders
Through the clouds I see love shine, it keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life there’s been heartache and pain
I don’t know if I can face it again
Can’t stop now, I’ve traveled so far, to change this lonely life.

Been to the bowels of Atlanta and stood among those with HIV/AIDS. Watched so many dying, felt their trembling and fear. Watched love being birthed in the darkness, loneliness and depths of distress of facing premature death. And the silent voice crying!

I want to know what love is, I want someone to show me
I want to feel what love is, I know there is someone who can show me

I’m gonna take a little time, a little time to look around me
I’ve got nowhere left to hide, it looks like love has finally found me

Been sent to prison and walked among so many young men filled with anger and fear, some abandoned by father and mother bouncing off the walls searching the depths of the anger and pain seeking to find a glimpse of hope (love) to grasp onto in the darkness.

I’m gonna take a little time, a little time to look around me
I’ve got nowhere left to hide, it looks like love has finally found me

Let’s talk about love, I want to know what love is
The love that you feel inside, I want you to show me

And I’m feeling so much love, I want to feel what love is
No, you just can’t hide, I know you can show me

I want to know what love is (let’s talk about love), I know you can show me
I want to feel it too, I want to feel what love is
I want to feel it too, and I know and I know, I know you can show me
Show me love is real, yeah, I want to know what love is

Every human wants to know — Do you Love me?

2016 Pagan God Ba’al

Ba’al is the pagan god of the old testament. Ba’al seems very much alive in our world today. It is strange that Ba’al would attain a title as the god of fertility because the worship of Ba’al was accompanied by the sacrifice of children by their parents. The altar for Ba’al worship has become the place where fertility takes place in the creation of new life and exists within the mothers womb. Ba’al repeatedly revels what kind of god he is as the practice of sacrificing children is being perfected in the dismembering of a babies body parts only to be outdone when a baby is delivered whole so the body parts can be dismembered more efficiently thus becoming more valuable. Ba’al loves that people pay the price to destroy new life for it is the price we pay to keep Ba’al alive who cannot live without those willing sacrifice ones own soul.

Ba’al has created another non living being to trick and distract those who might begin to recognize Ba’al is really a god who stays alive by bringing death to the living. We call this device a smart phone which seizes it’s victim and takes them for a joy ride through a new reality of cyber space which often excludes an encounter with any other living being. Ba’al has created and has claimed a new nick name – in fact it made it into our national dictionary = “selfie”. For Ba’al knows as long as people stay occupied with the inner space of self they volunteer to disable eyes, ears and spirit to see beyond selfie. Keep them on inside time and entertained is Ba’al goal. Avoid any suffering real life brings so the story of the true God never reaches the ears of worshipers. Avoid at all costs the search for the truth and the purpose of life. Ba’al knows suffering and hardship lead one to dig deep which can result in crying out and thirsting for answers. Worse it could lead to the possibility of committing the mortal sin of becoming open. Spread lies over and over and over to detour people from opening ones critical thinking capacity and cut off the spirit which can lead one to beginning to seek to find the purpose for which one was really created – to encounter life more abundant by reaching out beyond oneself and giving the gift of oneself away to someone else – which just might spread loving and serving others who are struggling through the journey of life.

Ba’al will do anything to avoid and encounter with the story of the first born son who on the cross said – “Forgive them Father for they know not what they are doing!”.

Marriage – Theology of the Body

In scripture The Lord of Hosts makes reference to the motif of spousal love and marriage. Where Christ is the bridegroom or male and the church is the bride or female. From the beginning the word spousal has a singular meaning which can only be satisfied when two people, one male (husband) and the other female (wife) marry. God the spokesperson of this truth, speaks as Creator of new life and Redeemer to new life. The marriage relationship in scripture always assumes the one flesh potential for the creation of new life. The terminology used is designed to help the people of faith know how to respond to God in faith. To destroy the meaning of the word spouse as male and female serves to confuse the fullness of truth and who the source of life is itself.

The marriage of a man and woman is a primordial building block (from the beginning) that serves as the defining mystery and pathway to salvation. One is called to give the gift of self in a manner that creates new life. That which can be seen yet remain hidden.

My feeble attempt to grasp St. John Paul II teaching on the Theology of the Body.

Selfie Generation

Our nation seems to be being run over with intolerance. It seems to be exploding everywhere. We call it being PC (which can change from day to day). I have long suspected part of the reason is the advance and acceptance of new technology – smart phones, FB, E-Mail, Texting and many others. These are social media technologies that lack any real human interaction with another real person who we can touch and they us. i.e. our nations social people skills, especially those of our children are being undermined at an alarming rate by the ease of dealing with cyber space technology rather than an old fashioned encounter with real walking talking breathing people.

Check out our college campuses.

Social technology eliminates body language. People communicate 600 + times more through body language than they do with the words they use. Technology cancels out body language which places us all at risk. Body language tells us if someone is kidding, pulling our leg, pushing our buttons, playing with us, while emotions can not be hidden. By the time we are two, we already interpret body language without thinking. Body language tells us very quickly just how well our messages is being received and interpreted and allows us to make immediate adjustments.

In a way we have become so smart so fast with technology that we have left the humanity of the person in the middle of the busiest freeway unprotected and said good luck hope all ends well for you as you try to escape the collisions you are creating.

We are suffering from believing we are now so empowered, so smart and so sophisticated that we are running the risk of destroying the dignity of our own humanity and replacing it with intolerance for any ones opinion but our own.

This is the definition of the newest word = “selfie” – it is all about me for I have become God.

Wisdom suggests we take away your children’s technology (maybe our own) from time to time so we can be sure they have to deal with real people other than just selfie.

It is amazing – Even old people have fallen in love with selfie.

We were not brought into the world for selfie – we were brought into the world to give selfie away – it’s called love one another as I loved you (while you crucified me).

Already Knew what I needed to Know

The Story Seen & Unseen – I didn’t know, I already knew what I needed to know. On blue bird day – one of those beautiful days when there is not a cloud in the sky and the sky is that deep blue color. There overhead flew a flock of pigeons high high above. In a flash of moment I observed a pure white pigeon begin diving straight down at the earth. Not just any common pigeon but a pure white racing pigeon known for their God given ability to find home from anywhere – even where they have never been before. A Homing pigeon is born with the necessary DNA to find home without ever being taught.
I stood there breathless trying to take in what was unfolding before my eyes. Oh my, there is so much more to the story to be told. Though I didn’t know I already knew what I needed to know – for it too was part of my DNA. Yes, I knew the way home as well as the dove messengers sent in ages past just as this one was speaking to my heart today. The dove released over the waters – the well spring of all life, from Noah’s Ark returned with a message of hope. The dove that descended upon Jesus as he came out of the Baptismal waters of the Jordan River. For the Angles have always come in the form of dove as when the Angle Gabriel appeared to the young girl Mary.
As I looked into the blue bird sky above, I saw a white dove as pure white as a fresh fallen snow diving from the sky straight down as an arrow. It stopped me in my tracks and I I stopped breathing as I witnessed this vison sent from above. My mind was grappling to grasp what was taken place. But the Lord of my soul was unveiling before my eyes the message sent from the breath of God as it passed over the waters – the wellspring of all life.
As I watched the vision unfold, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. The bird was diving straight down at my lake. As I watched I finally realized a hawk was closing in from behind as it dove straight down to snare the bird. The dove appeared to be in a suicide dive – as the birds accelerated toward the earth I realized they would disappear behind a 100’ tree next to the lake. I looked immediately below the canopy of the tree expecting to see a splash – splash.
What happened next would teach me I already knew what I needed to know and that I had known this since I was a small boy. The pigeon has ten primary flight pins (feathers) which serve to propel the bird through the air to escape death as it travels the route unknown home. Then to my amazement I saw the pigeon make a remarkable maneuver and pull out of that death spiral and pull up and away leaving the hawk in it’s dust. It was then that I remembered the pigeon has twelve tail feathers that serve as a rudder which allowed it to escape assured death.
The Ten flight pins represent the Ten Commandments to keep us safe from those who would take our life and the twelve tail feathers the church established by the Son of God through the twelve Apostles to guide it’s people away from death. And again in His rising from the dead, he sent again the Paraclete, the Dove, The Messenger, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit to teach us what we weren’t ready to know.
But the Vision and the Spirit were not through with me yet. The Homing pigeon has a wattle (white soft tissue heart shaped) on it’s beak. The wattle is the heart where the DNA gift from God lives that enables the pigeon to find it’s way home. Again, on the back of the pigeon near the tail feathers is an oil gland that the bird routinely uses to preen it’s feathers. It is this oil that slickens, softens, and water proofs it’s feathers to assure the bird most efficiently passes through the air saving energy enabling it to survive it’s journey home through a world full of dangers, detours and road blocks.
God gave us each a soul created with the same DNA as a homing pigeon. We know the way home, if we listen to the voice that speaks to us through the heart of our soul. And so when we release a homing pigeon we place our trust in the spirit of the creator and the nature of the bird to know its way home if only we will set it free.
So when we release a bird it symbolizes the one we love already knew the way home and we trust in the Word for we are sure they will make it home. Further it serves as a powerful reminder – we are not our own and we cannot hold on physically forever to those we love. For in the plan of the creator of all – for this day we were born to give ourselves away trusting in the truth that will ultimately set us all free.

John 2 – Progressivism

2 John Chapter 1 – to the chosen Lady and her children

1 The Presbyter to the chosen Lady and to her children whom I love in truth—and not only I but also all who know the truth—
2 because of the truth that dwells in us and will be with us forever. 3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son in truth and love.
4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth just as we were commanded by the Father. 5 But now, Lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing a new commandment but the one we have had from the beginning: let us love one another. 6 For this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, as you heard from the beginning, in which you should walk.
7 Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh; such is the deceitful one and the antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves that you do not lose what we worked for but may receive a full recompense. 9 Anyone who is so “progressive” as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him; 11 for whoever greets him shares in his evil works.

Open the Door!!!!

Open door policy! Sometimes a door gets closed on us we didn’t ask for or expect. Sometimes we just didn’t see it coming. So what do we humans do? Been happening a lot recently. We have lots and lots of folks jumping up and down demanding the closing or closed door be opened.

Wouldn’t be any of you would it?

Some will eventually come grudgingly to understand, yep, God does have an open door policy. He will let us in if we’ll just start looking around for the door opening and come right in when we find it! Problem is for many of us humans, we just insist on focusing on that old closed door and rehash over and over the limits imposed because the door closed.

And so many people tend to put God in a selfie defined “Box”. Don’t tell them, but God escapes before the lid to the box is closed. Think about it, God may well have something far better in mind than what we might have left behind that old door – the past that cannot be relived. Yep it might be scary and it might make us stretch but it might just be full of the new life promised and filled with a great treasure just looking for a safe place to reside.

Gosh isn’t that what we are longing for – new life, a breath of fresh air, a fresh start, I can’t wait any longer – where is that door – somebody turn me lose!

Dear Snowflakes

Dear Snowflake; You know who you are! You gorged yourself with the idealism of the world enlarging yourself in the process of your up and down formation ultimately being elevated to the top of a pedestal before beginning your necessary fall. Each and every snowflake is uniquely created pure and white as the snow. Gracefully you float on the wind bringing beauty and sparkle to all to who are able to see and behold. In the excitement of your creation you became so filled with your beauty the purpose of your creation, your true destination is not your problem.

Oh yea, an encounter with the reality of the world below with the real possibility of being collectively gathered with your friend snowflakes into a frozen ice prison or a more rapid reality encounter with an enemy of the human kind. The most feared end – the warm of the human touch which can assure instant death for a snowflake and the rapid transformation into the source of your beginning.

The formation of all life –> water –> the breath of God passing over the well spring of new life for every creature. Water that can quench the greatest thirst of one dying in the desert of life or of another in need of being washed clean from the grime and dirt the forsaken collect on life’s journey as they pass through the valley of darkness anxiously looking for some source of light and the possibility of new life. Oh dearest snowflake, never ever become discouraged for without your beginning the ultimate hope of the redemption of lost souls is not possible.

Aunt Hope

I had an Aunt Hope! She had seven children – I lost count because I left home. She was a wise woman and really knew where “Hope” resides. She was Christian and Catholic – obviously she had a bunch of beautiful children. Hope knew where hope lives! It lives in the spirit of truth, revealed in the life of the one who came at Christmas. Hope can abound in each and every person willing to open themselves to the risk of loving others.

Those searching for hope – please search your heart for the doorway placed there at birth! You will know it when you find it – it looks like a mirror reflecting the image of God and can only be detected in the twinkle of ones eye when they have found it!
